Summary

A collection of scripts that ease the installation and removal of WPS Role on Linux. The installation scripts also install the missing fonts that are usually missing during a normal installation. In that location are also scripts to download extra templates from online also equally to remove those templates.

Installation

Installing Dependencies (Do so slightly later)

Dependencies: Pip, bs4 (via pip), and virtualenv (via pip, optional)

To install Pip, follow the instructions here.

It is recommended to install virtualenv (to isolate the installation of extra packages from your organisation packages and avoid cluttering):

$ sudo pip install virtualenv

Lastly, y'all would need bs4 (BeautifulSoup4)...

Installation via virtualenv:

$ virtualenv wps_office_linux $              source              wps_office_linux/bin/activate $ pip install -r requirements.txt

Installation via system pip:

$ sudo pip install -r requirements.txt

Installing WPS Office on Linux

1. Open a terminal

2. Navigate to a directory where you wish to clone the repository

3. Clone the repo via:

   $ git clone git@github.com:pchan37/wps-function-linux-scripts

4. Navigate to the root of the repository

   $                  cd                  wps-function-linux-scripts

5. Install the required dependencies, post-obit the instructions above

6. Run the installation script

   $ ./install_wps_office_linux.sh

   Note: During the installation, if y'all are on Unproblematic Os or take plank installed, the script would prompt y'all if y'all want to create launchers on the dock (icon to launch the app).

Optional)

1. If you installed WPS Office on Linux and yous later realize you lot want to dock all three applications to the plank (Elementary Bone dock), run:

2. Download boosted templates from online (note that WPS Presentations would accept a while to load later on this)

   $ ./download_templates.sh

Uninstallation

IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THAT You DO Non CANCEL THIS PROCESS FOR A Clean REMOVAL

To uninstall WPS Function on Linux entirely, navigate to the root of this repo and run:

$ ./uninstall_wps_office_linux.sh

To remove the downloaded templates, navigate to the root of this repo and run:

Usage

To open an application, search upwardly WPS in your application launcher and select the i that you wish to open. Alternatively, y'all can pin it to the dock for easier access (if you have non already done and then).
